On 12/12/17 I arrived at Enterprise Rent a Car at Kansas City Airport. I had reserved a standard size car.
Witch they failed to keep and offered me a full size pickup or a mustang. I choose the mustang vin. # 1fatp8uhoh5204924. The second day I had the car I was in the parking lot of the Ramada Inn Hotel 7333 Parvin road and as I was starting to leave the parking lot when by its self the gas pedal went to full throttle with out me pushing on the gas pedal.
I immediately slammed on the brakes Witch did absolutely nothing to stop or slow the car down. The car then turned and completed a 360 degree loop in the parking lot with the rear tires smoking. It then exited the parking lot across two lanes of traffic hitting the center median curb. I was standing on the brakes the whole time.
I then had to turn back across the median curb to avoid hitting oncoming traffic. I again crossed two lanes of traffic and went off the roadway through the grass toward the freeway on ramp. The car hit a freeway construction sign. The car went airborne and then overturned over the on ramp into a ditch.
In the police report under probable contributing circumstances the only box that is checked is vehicle defects. Also in the police report the vehicle had license plate #047mhk Oklahoma for 2017. According to Oklahoma D.O.R.
revealed that the license plate was supposed to have been replaced with license plate #etk285 on 6/12/17 for the rental company. There are numerous documented cases of this same problem happing to mustangs with the throttle sticking wide open at anytime.
